A Kaitaia woman has been charged with murder over the death of her two-year-old girl daughter.
The child, who was flown to Auckland's Starship hospital with serious injuries, died on 8 August.
The toddler's 34-year-old mother had initially been charged with assault, but appeared in the Auckland District Court on Monday charged with murder.
She was granted continued name suppression and remanded in custody until 9 September, when she will appear in Kaitaia District Court.
