New Zealand's world and Olympic champion Valerie Vili has capped her season with a commanding performance at the World Athletics Final in Greece, putting the shot past 21 metres for the first time in her career.

Her second throw of 21.07m was more than 1.5m ahead of former world champion Nadezdha Ostapchuk of Belarus.

Vili ended the competition with a 20.72m toss, the second furthest of her career.

The 24-year-old has won all 13 competitions this year and the victory in Greece is her 25th in a row, the longest unbeaten streak in her event.

Ostapchuk was second, with a 19.56m best. Compatriot Natallia Mikhnevich, the 2008 Olympic silver medallist, was third - her best measured at 19.27m.
