Petrol and diesel prices drop

1:39 pm on 14 September 2009

The price of petrol and diesel has fallen at the pump by three cents a litre.

Mobil, BP, Shell, Caltex and Gull dropped the prices on Monday.

The four main companies are selling 91 octane petrol for 162.9 cents a litre and diesel for 103.9 cents a litre while Gull is selling the products one cent cheaper.

The main petrol companies cited the strengthening New Zealand dollar against the US currency as the reason for the decrease.
