A collection of 60 Ralph Hotere works is to be offered for sale by auction on Thursday.
Hotere gave the collection to a friend, who has decided to sell them. They have not been seen publicly for 41 years.
The collection went on display for the first time over the weekend at the Art & Object auction house in Auckland.
Director Ben Plumbly hopes the collection will fetch up to $500,000.
