Concerns are growing for the safety of a toddler missing in West Auckland.

Asiling Symes, aged two, was with her parents at a property they were tidying up in Henderson when she disappeared at about 5.30pm on Monday.

More than 100 police and residents spent much of Tuesday searching the area. They resumed at 7.30am.

Inspector Gary Davey says the search area will be broadened and will also focus on a few specific locations near the area where the toddler was last seen.

He says there's still no evidence of foul play, but the police have not ruled out the possibly that the child may have been abducted.

Inspector Davey told Morning Report they are still looking for information about or from an Asian woman who was seen with Asiling about the time she went missing.
