Lundy to appeal double-murder conviction

5:54 pm on 14 October 2009

The lawyer for the convicted double-murderer Mark Lundy says he will file an appeal against the convictions.

In 2002, Lundy was found guilty of killing his 38-year-old wife Christine and daughter Amber, aged 7, in their Palmerston North home in August 2000.

Supporters of Lundy, who believe there were inconsistencies in the police case, set up a fund in January this year to appeal against the convictions.

Lundy's lawyer Christopher Stevenson says the case continues to throw up new issues but hopes to lodge an appeal by the end of this year.
