There is insufficient evidence to continue with an investigation into allegations of an immigration scam involving a National MP, police say.
First-term list MP Kanwaljit Singh Bakshi was being investigated over allegations he gave false job offers to Indians trying to get into New Zealand.
Immigration New Zealand officials closed their investigation last year, but, after new information came to light in July, referred the case to police.
Police say there is insufficient evidence to take the matter further.
Mr Bakshi welcomed the decision, but would not make any further comment.
