A Kenyan man has been charged with murder and attempted murder following an attack in Christchurch although police still do not know where he is.
Samuel Njuguna left New Zealand a day after the 12 September attack on his estranged wife Lydiah Munene and her friend Stephen Maina.
Christchurch police have not located him and are relying on Kenyan government officials to help track him down.
Mr Maina died and Ms Munene suffered serious head injuries in the attack which the police say Mr Njuguna carried out.
She is recovering at home but Mr Maina's body was flown back to Kenya to be buried last month.
