Overlander train to stop at Taihape again

3:36 pm on 21 October 2009

Taihape is holding a celebration on Wednesday to mark the town's official return as a stop on the Auckland to Wellington Overlander train.

Taihape was dropped as a stop in 2005 because of falling passenger numbers, but the community worked hard to be reinstated.

Regular services will resume on Friday, but the south-bound Overlander will make a special stop in Taihape on Wednesday.
