An Auckland man who shot his friend dead at a dinner party has been found not guilty of murder or manslaughter.
A jury in Auckland's High Court believed Alan Gundry was acting in self defence when he shot and killed Gene Atkins.
Mr Gundry's lawyer, Graeme Newell says the jury was unanimous in its not guilty for murder verdict, but was eleven to one in the not guilty verdict of manslaughter.
Mr Newell says his client is very happy.
