The body of a Dunedin man who went missing while diving in remote Jackson Bay in South Westland has been recovered.
The 38-year-old was reported missing about 12.30pm on Friday. He had been diving for crayfish in the bay, south of Haast.
His companions searched for him by boat until the official search and rescue team arrived at about 2pm. Four helicopters helped in the search.
The man's body was discovered on Saturday night by the police dive squad, near where he was last seen.
His death has been referred to the coroner.
