The forensic investigation into the death of a Wanganui toddler has been centred on Thursday on houses belonging to relatives and friends of the child.
Karl Perigo-Check, 2, died in Wanganui Hospital on Saturday from serious internal injuries.
He was the son of Mongrel Mob member Karl Check, who was jailed for the 2007 murder of another Wanganui toddler, Jhia Te Tua.
Detective Inspector Chris Bensemann says forensic scientists are trying to find out where the boy was when he received his injuries.
He says they are looking over houses in the Wanganui suburb of Aramoho where he had stayed.
