Wellington beat rugby's Ranfurly Shield holders Southland by 34-21 in the Air New Zealand Cup final at Westpac Stadium on Saturday night.
Wellington led Southland 19 - 7 at halftime. They will meet Canterbury in Christchurch next weekend.
