A worker has died after falling on a construction site at the Britomart complex in central Auckland.
An ambulance service spokesperson says it was called out shortly after 11am on Thursday.
The spokesperson says the man appeared to have fallen about 10m and was already dead when ambulance officers arrived.
He was a sub-contractor for Hawkins Construction.
The company's chief executive Chris Hunter says it is a tragic incident, and his heartfelt thoughts are with the man's family.
Mr Hunter says the company is assisting Police and the Department of Labour with their investigations, and will also carry out its own independent review.
