Court staff reach pay agreement

11:03 pm on 14 December 2009

The union representing some of the country's court staff says it has reached an agreement with the Ministry of Justice over recent pay talks.

The National Union of Public Employees has announced that the offer will now be put to its members for ratification.

The union's lead advocate, Les Bryce, says he's confident that the offer is the best available within the ministry's budgetary constraints.

Mr Bryce says the bargaining has been completed in good faith and the offer recognises the valuable contribution made by its members to the justice system.
