Lotto's biggest winners still sharing it out

The Masterton family who won Lotto's biggest ever prize are continuing to share their winnings with the community.

Margaret Heaney, her daughters Fiona Wilton and Soibhan Logan and her granddaughter Alicia Heaney won $37 million in June.

One of their first purchases was a new ambulance for Masteron, and they have since made a multi-million-dollar donation to the local district health board.

They will now also make yearly donations to a range of charities including Starship Hospital, the Wairarapa Cancer Society and Ronald McDonald House.

Mrs Heaney told Nine to Noon that the money had come from lots of other people buying tickets, so they wanted to give something back to the country.

She says life hasn't changed much for them, apart from the occasional splash-out. They plan to have the normal cold Christmas lunch on Friday.
