The Catholic Bishop of Auckland says Christmas is a special time of year, even for non-Christians.
Bishop Pat Dunne says services at all churches are full at Christmas, including those at St Patrick's Cathedral in Auckland.
He says Christmas fulfils a need in both Christians and non-believers.
He says even for people who don't feel particularly religious, the beauty and message of Christmas is meaningful.
