A driver accused of ramming a police car and punching an officer is facing a range of charges in Hastings.
Police say they chased the man's car after it was seen doing a burnout in the city's centre on Saturday evening.
The pursuit ended when the car lost control. The driver then rammed the front of the police car before reversing into a tree.
The man fled pursued by two officers, police say, and threw a woman constable to the ground and punched a male constable several times to the head.
A 30-year-old man faces charges including reckless driving, driving while disqualified, aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
