One lane is open again on State Highway One in Raumati, north of Wellington, after a pedestrian was killed by a truck.
He was Rodney Thompson, 46.
Police believe he was attempting to hitchhike in dark clothing.
Two southbound lanes were closed after the incident, but they are now open again.
