Small quakes in South Island

A series of small earthquakes has been recorded in the South Island on Friday night.

Collingwood in Golden Bay, Seddon in Marlborough and Milford Sound experienced tremors since about 7.30pm.

Two quakes in Seddon measured 2.8 and 3.2 in magnitude and were both 9km deep.

The quake near Milford Sound was the largest at 3.7 magnitude and was 5km. The shake near Collingwood, measuring 3.4, was also 5km deep.
