McCaw returns to club rugby

All Blacks captain Richie McCaw will return to rugby in Christchurch on Saturday, after a six month sabbatical.

He activated a sabbatical clause in his contract with the New Zealand Rugby Union late last year to have a rest after 116 Tests.

During his time off, McCaw, 32, went skiing in Canada, the United States and France, and spent some time flying helicopters.

He will turn out for the Christchurch club against University on Saturday afternoon, wearing the number seven jersey.

Christchurch club coach and former Crusader Matt Mustchin said he is delighted to have McCaw's services.

Extra security is being put on at the club, which is expecting a large crowd.
