A Crown Research Institute says it has signed a contract with the Ministry of Health valued at more than $80 million.
It means the Institute of Environmental Science and Research (ESR) will be the preferred supplier of scientific services to the ministry for the next five and a half years.
The institute says locking in long-term revenue gives it the certainty to make investments in staff and equipment.
