The police in Waikato say they have located a Matamata man who was involved in a serious crash early on Friday.
They were seeking Timothy Coffey, whose car hit a power pole, street pole and fence at 1am on Western Street.
The police say the 24-year-old, who they described as intoxicated, fled the scene and they were concerned he may had had serious injuries.
They say witnesses told them he was speeding and appeared to be trying to drift the vehicle just before the crash.
