A man has been charged after a lit firework thrown into the crowd at a football game caused serious injuries to another man.
The incident happened during an All Whites' game against Mexico in November last year.
The operation commander for the event, Inspector John Spence, says the victim is still being treated for his injuries.
The 23-year-old who was charged will appear in the Blenheim District Court later in January.
