Two assaults on Christchurch prostitutes are now believed to be linked.
One woman was assaulted in an empty section early last Friday, while another was punched in the face two hours later.
A police spokesperson says it is likely the same offender was involved in both attacks. There are no firm leads, but police are working through a list of possible suspects.
Police say the attacker is described as a Maori or Polynesian of solid build, with long, straggly hair, possibly tied in a ponytail and he was wearing a white or light-coloured jacket.
