Man stable after allergic reaction

7:12 pm on 30 March 2014

A man is in a stable condition after being winched from the Hunua Ranges, with an allergic reaction to a bee sting.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called at about 10am on Sunday to the ranges, south of Auckland, to pick up the man suffering Anaphylaxis.

The helicopter was unable to land, so the patient was winched up and flown to Auckland Hospital where he's in a stable condition.

The pilot Dean Harvey says fortunately people with the man were carrying antihistamines and they administered them to him.
