Opotiki crash

Two men have died in Opotiki after the tow truck they were travelling in rolled 30 metres down a bank.

The crash happened at 1.30pm on the remote Takaputahi Road in Toatoa, east of Opotiki.

Motorists behind the truck and who saw the crash had to travel out of the area to call emergency services, which took almost 90 minutes. Police said the cause of the crash is not clear.
