The Privacy Commissioner is praising a decision by ACC to withdraw a privacy waiver form it had asked claimants to sign.

Commissioner John Edwards met ACC representatives on Thursday after disclosures the corporation sent some sensitive information on claimants to their prospective employers.

Mr Edwards said ACC is taking steps to address any concerns of people who had to sign the waiver, which has been found to be unlawful.

He said he told the corporation that when he gets complaints it will have to deal with them in the first instance.
