Police searching for missing Auckland woman Blessie Gotingco have released pictures of items she is believed to have had with her on the night she disappeared.

The police still have no idea what has happened to Blesilda "Blessie" Gotingco, who was last seen on Saturday night.

Ms Gotingco left her job at Tower Insurance in Fanshawe Street, central Auckland, on Saturday but never arrived at her Salisbury Street home.

CCTV footage "appears to show her leaving (her workplace) with some urgency" at 6.53pm.

She would usually take a bus home but Detective Senior Sergeant Stan Brown said police were still not certain she boarded a bus.

The 56-year-old's mobile phone and other items were found on the roadside about 400m away from what was most likely to have been her bus stop on Birkdale Road, he said.

As well, there there had been a number of reports of screaming heard in the area, and these were being checked out by officers.

"We still do not know what happened to Blessie.

"There have been several different lots of information relating to screams but they've been at different times of that evening," he said.

"So our inquiries will be trying to see if there's any credence in their calls, and whether it actually relates to Blessie."

Ms Gotingco was believed to be wearing her Omega constellation mini watch when she disappeared but neither it nor her reading glasses had been found,.

The watch was described as being two-tone, with a diamond bezel and a mother of pearl face.

Friends had expressed support on Facebook for Ms Gotingco's family, and Tower Insurance said in a statement it was deeply concerned and was working closely with police.

Last contact

The last time anyone heard from Ms Gotingco was on Saturday when she called her son at 6.21pm to say she was leaving work at about 7pm and would catch a bus home. Her son then went to work.

Her adult daughter, who works late shifts, arrived home at about 3.15am on Sunday and noticed her mother had not arrived home as expected. She contacted her two brothers and they notified police about 3.30am, police said.

Ms Gotingco's daughter tracked her mobile phone via its inbuilt locater system and found it was polling a short distance from their home, police said.

She went along the road where she found it, along with some more of her mother's personal items, and notified police at about 5.40am.

Mr Brown said the circumstances of Blessie Gotingco's disappearance and the location of some of her belongings gave rise to serious concerns for her safety.

He said an abduction, a hit-and-run and other scenarios were all possibilities at this stage.

North Shore police are interviewing bus drivers on routes out of the central city on Saturday evening, to confirm Ms Gotingco's movements. They have been talking to Birkenhead Transport and are asking people who caught the 7.20pm or 7.40pm bus to contact them.

Police have set up a free phone number for people who may have any information: 0508 LYNSEY or 0508 596 739. The Phillipines-born woman is slim with dark, shoulder-length hair and was wearing a white top and light coloured trousers.
