For the first time in at least two decades a New Zealand Navy vessel will berth at Pearl Harbour.
New Zealand is one of 23 nations participating in a large maritime military exercise around the Hawaiian Islands later in June.
The Defence Force said the exercise would involve about 25,000 personnel, more than 40 ships and submarines and at least 200 aircraft.
The HMNZS Canterbury is scheduled to berth at Pearl Harbour on 25 June.
