10:19 pm on 18 June 2014

Industry regulator WorkSafe New Zealand has charged a company and two individuals following the death of a forestry worker in Levin in 2013.

Lincoln Kidd, 20, was killed in a tree felling accident in December.

The company has been charged with knowing serious harm was likely to be caused but doing nothing about it. It faces fines of up to $750,000.

One of the individuals is charged with failing to prevent serious harm while in charge of the company; the other in relation to safety breaches before Mr Kidd died.
