Pair in court over card skimming

Two men facing more than 60 charges over an eftpos card skimming operation have appeared in an Auckland court.

Police said Martin Dane and Ivaylo Terziivanov netted more than $500,000 in five months. They jointly face 64 charges, most of which concern counterfeit ATM cards

Details of the charges reveal that 1880 different bank cards were skimmed in Auckland and Wellington.

The most serious charge, of possessing a bank card writer, carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. The pair will next appear on 15 August.
