A 31 year-old woman and 28 year-old man arrested by Auckland police and charged with the murder of Davender Singh are to appear in the High Court at Auckland on Wednesday.

Mr Singh was found dead in his car in Papatoetoe last Thursday, and the police are still seeking the murder weapon, which is believed to be a knife.

He was with his partner at the time.

Davender Singh died after what the police described as a violent struggle.

The arrested pair were jointly charged with Mr Singh's murder.

They appeared in the Manukau District Court on Saturday morning, and will be kept in custody for several days.

Their identities cannot be revealed because of interim suppression orders which last until their next court appearance in the High Court.

The police said no-one else was being sought in connection with the death.

The police were still appealing for anyone who saw Mr Singh's vehicle on Thursday night on Norman Spencer Drive to come forward.

They said they were pleased early arrests have been made, but were stressing the investigation was still in its early stages.
