A judge has reserved her decision on granting bail for a teenage boy charged with the murder of West Auckland dairy owner Arun Kumar.

Arun Kumar died at his Henderson dairy after being attacked on 10 June. Police said the 57-year-old appeared to have stab wounds to his neck.

A 13-year-old boy denies charges of murder and assault with intent to rob, while a 12-year-old boy denies charges of manslaughter and assault with intent to rob. Both have name suppression because of their age.

At the High Court in Auckland this morning, Justice Ellis heard arguments from the Crown and the 13-year-old's lawyer.

The Bail Act forbids Radio New Zealand from reporting the arguments. The boys are due to go on trial in November.
