The police are thanking the public for helping secure the arrest of a man wanted on several serious charges.
Shane Dion Dibben was arrested early this morning in Greymouth.
A police spokesperson said the arrest came about as a result of information provided by members of the public.
Mr Dibben had been sought on six counts of unlawful sexual connection, one of aggravated assault and one of assault with intent to injure. He was also accused of being in breach of his bail conditions.
The public had been warned not to approach him.
