An Auckland woman seriously hurt when she went to the aid of another woman who was having her bag snatched has managed to walk unaided, but still does not know what happened.

It has been a week since Lucy Knight fractured her head and suffered a brain bleed. The 43-year-old intervened to help another woman being attacked outside a supermarket at Northcote on Auckland's North Shore.
Ms Knight's family today released a statement through the Auckland District Health Board.
They said they were concerned that the woman Ms Knight went to help was blaming herself for the injuries - but they did not blame her and their thoughts and prayers went out to her.
Ms Knight's husband, Peter Thomas, said she made some good progress, but her recovery would take time, and she was sore and extremely tired.
Mr Thomas wrote on Facebook late last night she had managed to eat more food, drink more liquids and have short conversations. He said she walked a short distance without help yesterday, and that was the highlight of the day.

We continue to be humbled by the beautiful messages and amazing support from family, friends and members of the community.
We are incredibly grateful for the public's generosity and Lucy would be moved by the outpouring of kindness.
Our children are being looked after brilliantly by our family and although they really miss their mum, they are coping as best as can be expected. Some of the older children have visited Lucy briefly.
We are very concerned that the woman who Lucy assisted is blaming herself for Lucy's injuries. We do not blame her and she need not think that way. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her. We look forward to meeting her one day soon.
Lucy has made some positive progress but it is early days and her recovery will take some time. She is very sore and extremely tired. At this stage she is still unaware of what has happened to her.
We ask that the media allow us some time to be with Lucy. We will update you on her progress as often as we can manage.
