An Oamaru man charged with sex crimes can now be named as Frank Russell Walmsley.
The 56-year-old was arrested in July this year. A police spokesperson said he was granted interim name suppression at his first court appearance, but that was lifted by the court last Friday.
Mr Walmsley was due to reappear at the Timaru District Court on 25 February next year in relation to 85 alleged sexual offences relating to five victims who were then aged between 11 and 17.
The alleged offending is said to have occurred between 1999 and 2012 in Oamaru while Mr Walmsley was working in various jobs, including as a Child, Youth and Family home carer.
Police would like to hear from anyone who has interacted with Mr Walmsley and who believed could help the investigation.
