RSA insulted by cannabis club comparison

Members of the Whangarei Returned and Services Association are upset after the association was likened to New Zealand's first cannabis club.

An Auckland campaigner for drug-law reform, Dakta Green, established the country's only cannabis connoisseurs club in 2008.

More than 2000 members pay a monthly fee to smoke there, and he says the model will be replicated nationwide, starting with Northland.

Mr Green says it'll be run along similar lines to the association, on a not-for-profit basis.

The RSA's executive officer, Barry Nalder, says the comparison is repugnant.
