Meatworker's arm crushed by conveyor rollers

A meatworker's arm was crushed in an accident at Silver Fern Farms' factory at Waverley in South Taranaki on Tuesday.

The Taranaki District Health Board ambulance service says the 30-year-old woman was caught in a conveyor belt and her arm was crushed by rollers.

Initially trapped by the machinery, she suffered serious injury and was expected to be transferred to Wellington Hospital.
