Police say a group of gang members will appear in court after two men were kidnapped in the Bay of Plenty.

Police and the Armed Offenders Squad raided a series of properties associated with the Headhunters gang in Tauranga and Whakatane this morning.

The raids came after a man was kidnapped in Tauranga and another in Rotorua last month.

Bay of Plenty Police spokesperson Kim Perks said seven men associated with the gang face charges of kidnapping, aggravated robbery and participating in organised crime.

Two of the men have already appeared, in the Whangarei and Waitakere District Courts today.

Ms Perks said some of the men also face other charges and will appear in court this week.
