NZ film wins top prize at Pacific festival

A New Zealand film has won the top prize at the International Pacific documentary film festival in French Polynesia.

There Once Was An Island by Briar March and Lyn Collie, looks at the plight of people faced by climate change on Takuu atoll in Papua New Guinea's Bougainville province.

The public's prize went to a French Polynesian film called Homeland, the Return to Rurutu.

Three special prizes were awarded to a Hawaiian film Nono Newa, to the Australian film Bastardy and Untouchable Girls, a documentary from New Zealand about the Topp Twins.
