The internet entrepreneur and co-founder of the file-sharing site Megaupload is facing copyright, money laundering and fraud charges in the United States.

In the Auckland District Court today, Crown prosecutor Christine Wood said the defence was using further delaying tactics and the date of 2 June that had been set should remain.

She said if Mr Dotcom was granted the extra time, it would completely ignore the history of the proceeding and what had happened since he was arrested in January 2012.

Mr Dotcom's lawyer, Ron Mansfield, said there was not enough time to prepare for the June hearing but he could be ready by October.
