Not guilty plea by blogger

11:03 am on 9 February 2010

An Auckland blogger has pleaded not guilty to five charges of breaching name suppression orders, the first prosecution of its kind.

Cameron Slater appeared briefly in the Auckland District Court on Tuesday morning and was remanded at large until he appears again in March.

The charges relate to postings made in November and December.

Mr Slater says he has been told by the Crown that two more charges are expected to be laid in relation to name suppression orders.

Despite the charges, Mr Slater says he will not change the tone or content of any of his website.
