Gunn shortlisted for richest short story prize

New Zealand writer Kirsty Gunn has been shortlisted for the world's richest short story prize.

Gunn, a New Zealander living in Britain, has published six works of fiction including novels and short story collections.

The Irish Times reports she is competing against three Americans, a Chilean and a Welsh author for the Frank O'Connor International Short Story Award worth €25,000 ($NZ40,000)

She is shortlisted for the short story collection Infidelities.

Last year, Colin Barrett won the prize for Young Skins.
