Police in Wellington are concerned for the safety and welfare of two teenagers they say have deliberately run away from home.
They say Joshua Fletcher-Dobson and Chrystal Chan have been in touch with friends but not their family since running away on Tuesday morning.
Detective Sergeant John van den Heuvel says there have been confirmed sightings of the 15-year-olds on the Kapiti Coast, north of Wellington.
Mr van der Heuvek says concerns are growing, especially for Joshua Fletcher-Dobson, who is a diabetic.
He says the teenagers may have been staying in motels or backpackers but may soon run out of money.
