One person has died in a house fire north of New Plymouth.
The Fire Service was called to the scene in Waitara just after 10pm yesterday.
A spokesperson said when crews arrived it was too dangerous to immediately enter the home.
When they were able to go into the house, they found one person dead. No-one else was in the property.
Scene investigations are underway.
