Mr Livingstone appeared in the Hutt Valley District Court, where he denied three charges of breaching a supervision order, failure to comply with his sentence and unlawfully entering a property.

He spent nearly 40 hours on the run in Lower Hutt earlier this month after cutting off his GPS monitoring bracelet.

He was under an extended supervision order following his release from prison last year for the abduction and rape of a 10-year-old girl in Whangarei in 2006.

He is due to reappear again via video link on 8 September.
