Stabbing victim saying little to police

3:41 pm on 6 August 2008

A man stabbed in Auckland's Aotea Square on Wednesday has so far declined to make a complaint, say police.

The man, who was attacked in a toilet block about midday, did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

Cordons around two parts of the square have since been removed.

Police believe the attack was not a random event and that there was no particular threat to public safety.

Officers are at Auckland Hospital with the victim, but he has not been forthcoming with information about the attack.
