Four-year old Maggie Watson was found dead in her home in the suburb of Onehunga on 7 August.

They said today that results from tests and discussions with experts have led investigators to believe one or more people were involved in her death.

Detective Inspector Hayden Mander said the investigation was continuing.

He said the police have remained in contact with Maggie's family to keep them updated on the progress of the investigation.

The police were called by her mother and initially said no-one else was being sought in connection with the death.

Maggie's grandparents, who live in Malaysia, released a statement days after her body was found, describing her as an artistic, self-confident and caring child.
