Fuel oil has been removed from a fishing boat that ran aground near Opotiki, killing two crewmen.

There is still no sign of the body of one of the men who was washed out to sea.

More than 15,000 litres of oil and diesel has been removed from the San Cuvier which ran aground almost two weeks ago.

The vessel's owner, Sanford, says any possible environmental damage has been substantially reduced.
